Some miscellaneous items such as a Millikin University course catalog, Richland Community College brochure and map, brochures from the Northwestern Military & Naval Academy and related items are also included in this collection. Folders are arranged in chronological order except for oversize material.

Kay Smith, a native of Illinois, was a professional artist who specialized in watercolors and produced several works dealing with U.S. historic sites, landmarks and events. She is noted for producing an "American Legacy," a collection of 250 paintings that depict American history. She served as artist in residence at Millikin University and the Northwestern Military & Naval Academy (Geneva, Wis.) and was named the 1994 Artist Laureate of Illinois.
